Gift Card FAQ

If you’re throwing a birthday party, saying thanks, or just want to send a surprise, our gift cards are a perfect way to ensure your friends and family get exactly what they want. We’ve compiled all the information you need about our gift cards in one easy place.

We offer two types of gift cards:

  • E-gift cards – Purchase online directly from our store. Simply select the denomination you'd like, add it to your cart, and complete checkout. Your e-gift card will be delivered via email.
  • Physical gift cards – Available for purchase in-store only. Visit us in person to pick one up.

Yes! During checkout, you can enter the recipient's email address so the gift card is sent directly to them. You can also include a personalized message.

At checkout, enter your gift card code in the "Gift card or discount code" field and click Apply. The value will be deducted from your order total automatically.


Please note that University Book Store gift cards cannot be redeemed at Barnes and Noble.

Yes, you can apply multiple gift cards to a single order. Simply enter each code one at a time at checkout.

No problem either way! If your order total exceeds your gift card balance, you can pay the remaining amount with another payment method at checkout. If your order total is less than your balance, the remaining amount stays on your gift card and can be used on future purchases.

No, gift cards cannot be used as payment for other gift cards. They can be used on any other products in our store.

No, our gift cards do not expire. Your balance will remain available until it's fully used.

Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. However, if you have an issue with your gift card, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.

Yes, gift card codes can be used by anyone who has them. If you'd like to give your gift card to someone else, simply share the code with them. However, please keep your code safe — we are unable to replace gift cards that have been lost, stolen, or used without your permission.

Yes! You can check your gift card balance in two ways:

  • Via your gift card email – The email you received when the gift card was issued includes a link to view your current balance.
  • Contact us – Reach out to our support team with your gift card code and we'll look it up for you.

Please double-check that the code is entered correctly (it is case-sensitive). If you're still having trouble, contact our support team and we'll resolve the issue promptly.
